The story behind Healthy Electrical.
Northern Currents was founded by Trent Houlahan, an electrician with experience spanning gas and chemical plants, large-scale coal mines, shopping centres, and university campuses. The kind of environments where getting it wrong isn't an option.
But it wasn't a worksite that shaped the direction of this company. It was closer to home.
After witnessing first-hand the effect of mold and poor environmental design on his own family's health, Trent began looking differently at the spaces we live in, and at the electrical systems running through them. EMF exposure. Artificial light disrupting sleep. Circuits live all night in bedrooms. The modern home, wired for convenience, isn't always wired for health.
That realisation became Healthy Electrical, a framework for electrical design that puts the wellbeing of the people in the space at the centre of every decision. It's the philosophy that drives Northern Currents today.
