Northern Currents Electrical
Licensed electricians across the Northern Rivers NSW. We design, install, and maintain electrical systems built around the people living and working in them — from a safety switch to a full Conscious Energy build.
We respond same day.
Everything we do, from a safety switch to a full wellness build, is approached the same way: properly designed, correctly installed, and maintained so it stays that way.
This is how we believe all electrical should be done. Health-considered design: circadian lighting, EMF reduction, clean power, and systems that support how your body actually works. Not a niche offering. The standard.
Residential, commercial, and industrial electrical across Northern Rivers NSW. The same intention, every job, because you're in your electrical environment all day, every day.
You spend every day and every night inside an electrical environment. The circuits in your walls, the light above your desk, the wiring in your bedroom: they're running constantly, and they affect how you feel, how you sleep, how you function.
Conscious Energy isn't a premium add-on for wellness enthusiasts. It's a standard of electrical design that takes the people in the space seriously, considering light biology, electromagnetic environment, and long-term health alongside every other specification.
Founded by Trent Houlahan, this is the philosophy that runs through everything we do, from a simple safety switch job to a full wellness build.
Your electrical system isn't just infrastructure. It shapes the environment you live in. We design it that way from the start.
We build lasting relationships with our clients. The better we know your home, the better every job that follows. That's the model.
Trent's background spans gas plants, coal mines, shopping centres, and universities. The intention is thoughtful. The capability is proven.
Three of the services we're known for, and the reason we think they matter for every home, not just wellness builds.
Wi-Fi routers run 24/7. Circuits stay live in bedrooms. Hardwired networks and thoughtful circuit design reduce unnecessary exposure without disrupting how you live.
Standard LEDs suppress melatonin (the hormone that triggers sleep) right up until bedtime. Lighting designed around your body clock changes that. The science is clear.
Saunas, cold plunge, and full wellness builds, installed safely, to Australian standards, and with the understanding that only comes from knowing the space properly.
When you work with Northern Currents, you gain an electrician who gets to know your home as well as you do. We design it, install it, and maintain it. Every time something comes up, we already understand every detail of your system.
That's not just good service. It's a fundamentally better model. We're built on referrals from people who trusted us and weren't let down.
Trent Houlahan founded Northern Currents after a career spanning gas plants, mines, shopping centres, and university campuses. The experience is broad. The attention to detail is consistent. And the standard, Conscious Energy, applies to every job we touch.
"We can choose better. We can do better."

We're not here to be just another electrical company. We're here to change what you expect from one.
Northern Currents Electrical is a licensed electrical company working across Northern Rivers NSW, from everyday residential and commercial jobs to specialist Conscious Energy builds for health-focused homes, wellness businesses, and community spaces.
The model we work to is simple: we design your electrical system, install it properly, and maintain it over time. That means when something comes up, a year or five years later, and we already know your property better than anyone. No callbacks to explain the basics. No starting from scratch. Just an electrician who already understands every detail of your home or business.
Our reputation is built on referrals from people who trusted us and weren't let down. That's the business, and it's the model we protect.
Northern Currents was founded by Trent Houlahan, an electrician with experience spanning gas and chemical plants, large-scale coal mines, shopping centres, and university campuses. The kind of environments where getting it wrong isn't an option.
But it wasn't a worksite that shaped the direction of this company. It was closer to home.
After witnessing first-hand the effect of mold and poor environmental design on his own family's health, Trent began looking differently at the spaces we live in, and at the electrical systems running through them. EMF exposure. Artificial light disrupting sleep. Circuits live all night in bedrooms. The modern home, wired for convenience, isn't always wired for health.
That realisation became Conscious Energy, a framework for electrical design that puts the wellbeing of the people in the space at the centre of every decision. It's the philosophy that drives Northern Currents today.
More than a service. A different way of thinking about electricity.
Most electrical work is done the way it's always been done. We ask why, and whether there's a better approach that actually serves the people in the space.
Lighting affects sleep. Wiring layout affects the electromagnetic environment. These aren't fringe ideas. They're how bodies work. We build them into every design.
We don't complete a job and disappear. We maintain what we build, stay available, and treat your home or business the way we'd want ours treated.
Gas plants, chemical facilities, coal mines, shopping centres, university campuses, and residential homes. The breadth of that experience shows in the quality and confidence of our work.
Every project is viewed through the lens of the people who'll live and work in the space, not just the wiring plan. That's Conscious Energy, applied as standard.
The Design · Install · Maintain model means we build lasting familiarity with every property we work on. You get an electrician who knows your setup as well as you do.
24/7 emergency availability across the Northern Rivers, and a genuine commitment to being there for our clients, not just when it's convenient.
Don't take our word for it.
Tell us about your project and we'll get back to you promptly.
Not a niche offering. A different way of thinking about every home and building we work in.
The light above your desk. The circuit behind your bedroom wall. The network router running 24/7 in the hallway. These are constants, and they affect how you feel, how you sleep, how you function. Most people never think about this. We can't stop thinking about it.
Conscious Energy is our framework for electrical design that considers the people in the space, not just the compliance checklist. It applies to wellness retreats and family homes, new builds and renovations, commercial offices and school classrooms, anywhere people spend real time. It's not a premium add-on. It's how we believe all electrical should be approached.

Wi-Fi routers running constantly. Circuits live all night. Standard LED lighting suppressing melatonin right up until you try to sleep. These are the defaults, not the only options.
The science behind light and sleep is well established. Specialised photoreceptors in the human eye respond specifically to short-wavelength (blue) light, sending signals that suppress melatonin and keep the body in a wakeful state. The same mechanism that makes morning sunlight healthy becomes a problem when your LED downlights at 9pm are doing the same job.
Conscious Energy design addresses these realities at the electrical level, not through behaviour change, but through how the system is built. This is what separates a thoughtfully designed home from one that's merely compliant.
Thoughtful wiring design and hardwired systems that reduce unnecessary electromagnetic field exposure in your home. No overclaiming, just good engineering.
Electromagnetic fields from Wi-Fi routers, powerlines, and live circuits exist in every home. Regulatory bodies including ARPANSA and the WHO maintain that everyday EMF exposure has not been substantiated as a health risk at typical levels. At the same time, they support precautionary design, and so do we.
We take the view that if a system can be designed to reduce unnecessary exposure, with no loss of performance. That's just good practice. Hardwired Ethernet is faster and more reliable than Wi-Fi. Smart circuit routing costs nothing extra in a new build. These are sensible defaults, not extreme measures.
For those who want to go further, particularly in sleeping environments where continuous overnight exposure is a consideration, we can assess and advise on a practical, measured approach tailored to your home.
Replace wireless with fully hardwired Ethernet. Faster, more stable, and no continuous Wi-Fi signal throughout your home.
Cable routes planned to keep power and data lines away from beds and high-dwell areas. Simple, effective, and costless in new builds.
High-load appliances on their own circuits, separating field-generating equipment from living and sleeping spaces.
Switchable circuits for bedrooms. Cut power to the room's wiring overnight, eliminating the field from live cables while you sleep.
We assess your current setup and map out a practical approach, prioritising the spaces and changes that make the most difference.
Routine checks to ensure your systems remain effective, part of the Design · Install · Maintain model.
Lighting that follows the sun, the way human biology has been calibrated for millennia. The science is well established. The electrical work is what makes it real.
The human eye contains specialised photoreceptors (intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, ipRGCs) that are most sensitive to short-wavelength blue light (peak at ~480nm). These cells send signals directly to the suprachiasmatic nucleus, your brain's circadian clock, suppressing melatonin production and keeping the body in alert mode.
Standard LED downlights emit significant blue-spectrum light, right up until you turn them off at night. The result is measurably delayed melatonin onset, harder sleep initiation, and poorer sleep quality. Research published in the Journal of Pineal Research (2019) found that just two hours of evening blue-enriched light exposure delayed melatonin onset by around 30 minutes. That's not theory. That's your actual sleep schedule being shifted every night.
Circadian lighting design corrects this at the electrical level. Cool white in the morning, transitioning through warm white during the day, to amber by evening. The interactive guide below shows exactly what this means for your biology and your space.
A considered lighting plan that shifts through the day, zone by zone, space by space, so your home works with your biology, not against it.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, and lounges used in the evening, the spaces where melatonin protection matters most, prioritised first.
Automated or manually adjusted systems, wired cleanly and correctly. The electrical work done properly so the system actually performs.
We work with existing homes and new builds. New builds get the cleanest result. Retrofits are still very worthwhile and usually straightforward.
We advise on the right colour temperature fittings for each space. Not just what to wire, but what to install in it.
Click each colour temperature to see how it transforms a room and what it signals to your biology.
Cool white light closely mimics midday sunlight. It signals wakefulness to the brain, suppresses melatonin production, and supports focused activity. Excellent in the morning and task-based spaces.
Kill switches for bedrooms and rest spaces. Cut power to circuits overnight and eliminate residual EMF while you sleep.
Even with devices off, a live circuit runs a low-level electromagnetic field through your walls. Power isolation, or kill switches, lets you cut power to specific circuits at the press of a button, turning your bedroom into an EMF-quiet space for sleep.
Simple to install. Simple to use. The difference in sleep quality can be immediate.
A dedicated switch to cut the bedroom circuit. Active wiring, passive rest.
Switchable zones across multiple rooms. Control which areas are live when you want them to be.
We retrofit power isolation into your current electrical setup. No full rewire required in most cases.
Lighting installations that eliminate blue-spectrum output in your sleep and rest spaces.
Blue-spectrum light tells your brain it's midday, even at 10pm. Standard LED lighting, and almost all screens, are loaded with it. Blue light blocking removes this signal from your rest spaces so your body can do what it's designed to do: wind down and sleep.
We install purpose-selected amber and red-spectrum lighting in bedrooms, bathrooms, and evening spaces, giving you real melatonin protection without sacrificing comfort.
Selected, installed, and wired correctly for maximum melatonin protection.
The rooms where it matters most. We prioritise the last spaces you're in before sleep.
Works best combined with full circadian rhythm lighting. We'll advise on what makes sense for your space.
The most powerful opportunity to create a genuinely healthy home. Built right from the first wire.
Retrofitting a home is possible. But a new build is your best chance to get it completely right. No compromises, no workarounds. We work with builders, architects, and owner-builders to bring Conscious Energy principles into new homes from the very first wire.
That means EMF-aware cabling routes, circadian lighting prepped from rough-in, hardwired data throughout, and power isolation built into the switchboard. All at new build cost rather than retrofit cost.
From rough-in to final fit-off, managed end to end.
EMF reduction, circadian lighting, hardwired data, and power isolation. All designed in from the start.
We work directly with your building team to ensure the electrical design is coordinated correctly.
All work completed to Australian standards and fully certified.
Off-grid and grid-connect electrical for tiny homes, efficient, minimal, consciously designed.

The invisible noise in your electrical supply: what it is, where it comes from, and how to filter it out.
Dirty electricity refers to high-frequency voltage transients that ride on top of the standard 50Hz power supply. These aren't part of the electricity you ordered. They're introduced by the devices we now run constantly throughout our homes and workplaces.
Modern households are full of switch-mode power supplies: phone chargers, laptop adapters, LED light drivers, variable-speed appliances, and solar inverters. Each one converts power in a way that introduces high-frequency noise back into the circuit. That noise travels through your wiring and radiates from every cable in your walls.
Research into dirty electricity is ongoing, but a growing body of evidence links elevated high-frequency transients to fatigue, headaches, reduced concentration, and disrupted sleep, particularly in sensitive individuals and children.
We measure the high-frequency transient levels in your home using a calibrated DE meter, identifying the worst-affected circuits and sources.
We install appropriate filters at key points in your electrical system to reduce transient levels on the circuits where you spend the most time.
We identify the highest-generating devices in your home and advise on replacement or isolation strategies to reduce noise at its source.
Solar inverters are one of the most significant sources of dirty electricity in modern homes. We assess your system's contribution and recommend solutions.
For new builds, we design the electrical system from the outset to minimise dirty electricity generation: circuit separation, quality components, and filtered sub-boards where appropriate.
Reconnecting your building and your body to the earth's natural charge.
In electrical terms, grounding is safety. A properly earthed system provides a fault path that keeps people safe, and it's the foundation of everything we do. But within building biology, the concept of earthing goes a step further.
The earth's surface carries a mild negative electrical charge. Research, including the work of Dr James Oschman and Dr Stephen Sinatra, suggests that sustained physical contact with this charge may reduce inflammation, support cortisol regulation, and improve sleep quality. It's a state most humans maintained continuously for most of history. Modern insulated flooring, rubber-soled shoes, and raised sleeping surfaces have changed that.
Indoor earthing brings the earth's surface potential inside, through grounded mats, conductive flooring, and earthed surfaces that allow your body to receive the charge while at home. The electrical foundation must be correct before any of this can work, which is where we begin.
We verify the quality of your existing earth connection, the starting point for any effective indoor grounding setup.
We measure earth potential throughout the building to confirm consistent, effective grounding across all outlets and surfaces.
We install grounded connection points and surfaces: earthing mats, floor systems, and bedside connection setups, allowing your body to remain in contact with the earth's charge indoors.
We design and install a complete grounded sleeping environment, the space where your body does its most critical repair work, and where grounding has the greatest potential benefit.
For new builds, we design the earthing infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring every point in the home has a clean, reliable earth connection.
Children spend six hours a day in classrooms. The electrical design of those spaces has a direct bearing on how they learn, focus, and feel.
The modern classroom contains fluorescent or cool-spectrum LED lighting, a laptop or tablet per child, multiple Wi-Fi access points, projectors, and charging banks, all operating continuously for the duration of the school day. That's a denser electrical environment than most offices, occupied by developing nervous systems that may be more sensitive to it.
The fluorescent lighting that still dominates most Australian classrooms flickers at 100Hz, double the power cycle frequency. This flicker is invisible to most adults, but research shows it is detectable by the nervous system, with documented effects on concentration span, reading accuracy, and behavioural regulation, particularly in children with sensory sensitivities or learning differences.
A Conscious Energy approach to school electrical design addresses these issues systematically: quality lighting at the right colour temperature, reduced ambient field density, and spaces that give children the best possible conditions for sustained attention.
Fluorescent tubes flicker at 100Hz. Most people cannot consciously perceive it, but the visual cortex can. Studies show measurable increases in eye strain, headache incidence, and reduced reading accuracy in fluorescent environments. For children with autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, or sensory processing sensitivities, the effect is often significantly more pronounced.
Replacing fluorescent lighting with high-quality, low-flicker LED at the right colour temperature is one of the most impactful changes a school can make for its students, and one of the most cost-effective over the full lamp lifecycle.
We assess existing lighting quality: flicker rate, colour temperature, uniformity. We design an upgrade that supports concentration and reduces eye strain. Full LED conversion with flicker measurement and verification.
We measure field levels throughout learning and rest spaces, identifying high-density areas and advising on practical reduction strategies.
Teachers spend more continuous time in these spaces than the students. Improved electrical environments support staff cognitive performance and reduce fatigue across the day.
Lighting systems that shift in colour temperature across the day: more stimulating during core learning periods, calmer in rest and reading areas, designed around children's biological rhythms.
For new builds and major refurbishments, we integrate Conscious Energy principles from the design phase, delivering learning environments that are genuinely built for the children in them.
Full electrical safety compliance for schools: test and tag, RCD testing, switchboard inspection, and certification.
Your team's performance and wellbeing starts with the quality of the environment they spend eight hours a day in.
Standard commercial electrical design delivers power and light to a space. It meets code. It works. But it rarely considers what that environment does to the people occupying it for eight or more hours each day.
The open-plan office is one of the densest electrical environments most people ever inhabit, with multiple screens, Wi-Fi mesh networks, charging stations, server equipment, and overhead lighting running on switch-mode drivers. Most of this is invisible. The effects are not.
A Conscious Energy approach to a commercial fit-out applies the same principles as our residential work: lighting quality, field density, and electrical design that considers the biology of the people inside. The result is a workplace that supports sustained concentration, reduces ambient fatigue, and reflects a genuine investment in the team it houses.
We design and install lighting that supports cognitive performance: the right colour temperature for sustained desk work, dimmable zones for different task types, and natural light integration where possible.
Systems that shift across the working day: energising in the morning, calmer in the afternoon, supporting the body's natural alertness cycle rather than fighting it.
We measure field density at workstations and throughout the space, identifying hotspots and advising on practical reduction strategies that don't require business disruption.
Cabling layout and power point positioning that reduces field exposure at the desk, where people spend the majority of their working hours.
For new commercial fit-outs, we integrate health-focused electrical design from the outset, delivering a workplace that performs at every level.
A structured consultation for businesses looking to improve their team's working environment through better electrical design: covering lighting, EMF, dirty electricity, and grounding.

RCD safety switch installation and testing for homes and businesses. The most important electrical safety device you can have.
Safety switches (RCDs, Residual Current Devices, are the single most effective protection against electrocution. They detect tiny changes in current and cut power in milliseconds, before a dangerous shock can occur.
In NSW, safety switches are mandatory on all new electrical work. Many older homes still lack adequate RCD protection. We install, test, and certify safety switches across Northern Rivers.
All rentals must have RCD protection on power circuits
Any new work must include RCD protection
Press the test button every 6 months. Call us if it doesn't trip
Contact us to assess and upgrade your RCD protection.
Regular RCD (safety switch) testing is a legal requirement for many property types in NSW, and a critical safety practice for all of them. We test, document, and certify, so you have proof your electrical protection is working.
An RCD (Residual Current Device), commonly called a safety switch, is the device that cuts power within milliseconds if it detects a fault, potentially saving a life. Testing confirms each RCD operates correctly and within the required trip time.
Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760 and NSW Work Health and Safety Regulations require periodic RCD testing in workplaces, rental properties, and commercial premises. Many insurance policies also require evidence of tested and compliant safety switches. Without testing, you have no way of knowing whether the switch that is supposed to protect you will actually operate when it counts.
The basic functional test every occupant should perform quarterly, confirmed by our technician as a baseline check.
Using calibrated test equipment, we measure the RCD's actual trip time against the AS/NZS 3760 standard. A slow or non-tripping RCD fails compliance, regardless of its age.
We verify the circuit can deliver enough fault current for the RCD to operate correctly, not just the device in isolation.
Every test produces a written record: device ID, circuit, test date, result, and next due date. You receive a certificate you can give to insurers, property managers, or WHS officers.
If a device fails testing, we carry stock to replace it on the spot. No second visit required in most cases.
Under AS/NZS 3760 and NSW WHS Regulations, testing frequency depends on how the property is used:
Every 3 months (push-button test) and every 12 months (full test). Construction sites, workshops, and outdoor commercial settings.
Every 6 months (push-button) and every 5 years (full test). Offices, retail, hospitality, and similar settings.
NSW regulations require that all RCDs and smoke alarms in rental properties be tested and maintained. We provide landlord compliance reports suitable for property managers.
No statutory interval, but we recommend full testing every 3 years, or when purchasing a property or completing renovations.
If your workplace also needs portable appliance testing (Test & Tag under AS/NZS 3760), we run both on the same visit. One report, one certificate, one invoice.
Residential, rental, commercial, and industrial. Certified results issued on completion. Serving Northern Rivers NSW.

Let's talk about the electrical infrastructure that makes it work properly.
Generator installation and backup power systems for homes and businesses: transfer switches, battery systems, and reliable power when the grid goes down, Northern Rivers NSW.
Northern Rivers knows power outages. Storms, floods, and grid events cut power to homes and businesses, sometimes for days. A properly installed generator or battery backup system keeps your critical loads running: refrigeration, communications, medical equipment, lighting, and water.
We install generator transfer switches, portable generator connection points, and standby generator systems, all correctly wired to safely isolate from the grid. No dangerous back-feeding, no workarounds. Done properly.
Automatic or manual transfer switches that safely disconnect from the grid before generator power is connected. The correct way to run a generator
Permanent weatherproof connection points for portable generators. Plug in your generator without dangerous temporary leads or back-feeding risks
Permanently installed standby generators wired to your switchboard with automatic transfer. It starts automatically when grid power fails
A dedicated sub-board for your essential circuits. Your generator only needs to power what matters, not your whole house
Home battery storage for grid backup. Keeps lights and critical loads running during outages without the noise of a generator
Running a generator without a proper transfer switch can back-feed the grid, endangering linespeople working to restore power
Generator connection to your switchboard must be done by a licensed electrician. No DIY workarounds
We help you work out what you actually need to power, and size the system accordingly, rather than overselling
We understand what backup power means in this region after extended flood and storm events. Practical, relevant advice
We'll design and install a backup system that works when you need it.
Before a cable is run or a fitting is installed, the decisions made on paper determine everything. We design electrical systems that work, for now and for how you'll live in ten years.
Most electrical work starts with a plan drawn on the back of a quote. We think that's too late. The design stage is where we make decisions about circuit layout, lighting placement, switchboard capacity, EMF exposure, power quality, and long-term flexibility. These decisions are cheap to change on paper and very expensive to fix after the walls are closed.
Our electrical design service is available as a standalone consultation for new builds, major renovations, or any project where the electrical environment really matters. It's also the first stage of every Conscious Energy engagement, because without proper design, even the best installation is just tidy compliance work.
We work with architects, builders, and owner-builders to produce a coordinated electrical design that integrates with the structure, the lifestyle, and the long-term goals for the space.
We walk the site, or review plans for new builds, to understand how the space is intended to be used, and document the client brief: lifestyle, priorities, budget, and any Conscious Energy considerations.
Circuit planning that accounts for load distribution, future-proofing, and minimising EMF in key areas like bedrooms and living rooms. We design circuits that are logical, safe, and built for how the space will actually be used.
Position, type, colour temperature, dimming capability, and control zones, all considered together. For Conscious Energy projects, we design lighting systems that support circadian rhythms: energising in the morning, melatonin-safe at night.
Switchboard sizing and layout for current load and future capacity. We plan for EV charging, heat pumps, split systems, high-draw wellness equipment (saunas, cold plunge), and anything else on the horizon.
For EMF-conscious clients, we plan hardwired Cat6 infrastructure throughout the home or building, delivering fast, reliable connectivity without the constant RF emission of a wireless network running 24/7 in your living space.
A clear set of design drawings and specifications that can be used for quoting, council approval where required, and as the installation reference document. No ambiguity. No guessing on-site.
The decisions made at design stage determine 80% of the outcome. Our design service exists to make those decisions deliberately, before the first cable goes in the wall.
We offer design consultations for new builds, renovations, and Conscious Energy projects. Tell us about your project and we'll advise on scope and next steps.
Once the walls are closed, the options narrow. The right time to get the electrical design right is before the build begins, or at the very least, before the fit-out stage.
The greatest opportunity to get the electrical environment right: from circuit layout to lighting design to hardwired network, without constraints imposed by existing work.
When walls are open, the cost of doing it right is at its lowest. We design renovated electrical systems that remove the compromises of the original install.
Every Conscious Energy engagement starts with design. EMF reduction, circadian lighting, power isolation, and grounding all require decisions made before installation, not after.
This is our model, and the design stage is what makes it work.
Site assessment, brief, circuit planning, lighting design, switchboard layout, and design documentation. Decisions made deliberately, on paper, before the build begins.
Installation to the design document. No improvising on-site, no shortcuts. The result is an electrical system that matches what was planned and what was promised.
Because we designed and installed it, we know it better than anyone. Ongoing maintenance, safety checks, and upgrades, from an electrician who already understands every detail of your system.
Talk to us about electrical design early, before any other decisions are locked in.
The science, the design principles, and the honest perspective, from a company that thinks about electrical for a living.
The electricity in your home runs all day, every day. The lights above your desk, the circuits in your bedroom wall, the router in the hallway. They're constants. We make the case that treating these as an afterthought is a design choice worth reconsidering.
Most people know blue light affects sleep. Fewer know how the electrical design of their home is the root cause, and how to address it properly.
Wi-Fi routers emit RF radiation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hardwired Cat6 networks are faster, more reliable, and emit nothing. Here's why more people are making the switch.
Dirty electricity is real, measurable, and largely invisible. We explain what it is, where it comes from, and the honest case for addressing it in your home.
Sauna installations have specific electrical requirements most people don't think about until it's too late. What you need to plan before the build begins.
ipRGCs, melatonin suppression, the suprachiasmatic nucleus. The biology of how light affects you, and what it means for how your home should be lit.
There's a lot of noise around EMF. We cut through it, explaining what ARPANSA and the WHO actually say, what precautionary design means, and what's genuinely worth addressing.
The decisions made at design stage determine 80% of the outcome. Once the walls are closed, the options narrow. Here's what to get right before the build begins.
Cold plunge and ice bath installations are more complex electrically than most people realise. Safety standards, load requirements, and what to ask your electrician.
Earthing is having a moment. An honest, electrician's perspective on what grounding does, what the research says, and how it applies to electrical design.
Old ceramic fuses, no RCDs, undersized boards. The signs your switchboard is overdue for an upgrade, and why putting it off usually costs more than the upgrade itself.
Not all LEDs are equal. Colour temperature, CRI, flicker rate, and dimming compatibility. The things that actually matter when specifying LED lighting for a home.
Tiny homes and granny flats have unique electrical constraints. How to get the design right, maximising usability while keeping the system safe and compliant.
